A Father’s Wisdom

Romans 1:16     I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew and then for the Gentile.

This verse has long been significant for me, because for many years it was the personal Mission Statement for my father.  He was a carpenter and a very active lay leader, especially in the Church Plant our family was involved in on the north side of Houston, with Pastor Glenn O’Shoney.  My father was not ashamed or embarrassed of the Gospel.  He would share the Good News of Jesus with anyone, anytime, anyplace.  That kind of readiness is essential each day, because the chances are good thay every other person we meet in any given day does not know Jesus or have a faith relationship with him.  In most of our cities or communities in the USA, less than half of the people know Jesus or have a faith response to him as Savior and Lord.

We must not be ashamed of the Gospel, but be ready anytime with anyone to share the Good News of Jesus and invite them to know and believe in him also.

Jesus, Savior and Lord of all, inspire in me a boldness to share the Good News of your love with all I meet. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
